The Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches skills using the American Heart Association’s proven Practice-While-Watching technique, which allows Instructors to observe students, provide feedback, and guide students’ acquisition of skills. With their student manual for the course, students receive the new Pocket Reference Card, designed to provide quick emergency information to the rescuer at any time. Books/ Provider Manuals: The American Heart Association requires ALL students to bring the corresponding AHA provider manual the new 2025 Version with them to their course. There are NO EXCEPTIONS . The AHA has eBooks available for purchase for BLS! If you choose to purchase an eBook, go to www.ebooks.heart.org in order to download the book. Note: If you did not purchase the eBook through our registration process you must show your instructor you have the eBook on your portable device (iPad, tablet or smart phone) This course is designed for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course. There are NO EXCEPTIONS Books/Provider Manuals: The American Heart Association requires all students to bring the corresponding AHA provider manual, the new 2025 Version, to their course.
